Elham Ellie Shadmehr, DDS, MS

Diplomate, Board Certified Endodontist

Dr. Ellie Shadmehr has been a practicing endodontist since 2011. She earned her DDS and Master’s Degree/Endodontic Certificate from Isfahan University of Medical Sciences in 2011. She then earned an Advanced Endodontic Certificate from the State University of New York at Buffalo.

She moved to California in 2018 and joined the Division of Endodontics at UCSF as Predoctoral Director.

 

Dr. Shadmehr is a researcher who has presented at several national and international conferences. She has published more than 35 peer-reviewed articles and three books in the field of Endodontics.

Dr. Shadmehr was the former predoctoral director at University of California, San Francisco UCSF dental school. She also teaches voluntarily to dental students at UCSF dental school. 

 

Dr. Shadmehr has registered patents in the field of endodontics. Her patents are regarding two innovative designs to remove separated instruments from root canal systems. She serves as an editor and reviewer for numerous International Endodontic Journals. She has lectured at several meetings and has received several awards including the American Association of Endodontics Research Award Competition in 2017.

 

She spends her time out of office running, hiking and traveling.

Dr. Mauricio Rubio, DDS

Diplomate, Board Certified Endodontist

Dr. Mauricio Rubio is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. He attended the University of California, Davis where he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. He went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from UC San Francisco where he was inducted into the O.K.U National Honorary Dental Society UCSF. It was during his second year of dental school when he knew he wanted to become an endodontist and where he found a mentor in Dr. Shadmehr and Dr. Roper. After graduating from UCSF, he worked as a general dentist for two years at a community clinic and private practice settings. He continued his training to specialize in Endodontics at UCLA where he successfully completed his residency and was recognized at the 2024 AAE annual meeting with a resident research award. 

 

Dr. Rubio finds the field  of endodontics fascinating as they work in confined spaces using a combination of science and human service to alleviate pain and restore natural dentition. Dr. Rubio’s love for the profession and compassion coupled with his good nature make him a great clinician. 

 

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Rubio loves hiking, traveling and practicing sports. He loves spending time with family and friends and is an avid reader.
